Come out to Historical Huntington Woods for a beautiful and scenic 10K run, benefiting the Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter! Whether you are a trained professional looking to train for a longer distance run, a novice runner looking to practice your skills, or just someone desiring to burn a few calories the Family Adventure Day 10K Run is a perfect run for all the above! You will also be supporting the mission of the SFMC and helping to find a CURE for scleroderma! Come dressed as your favorite zoo animal and win a prize for the best dressed runner!
As a 10K runner, if you are in the Detroit Zoo gates by no later than 9:15 a.m., you will have all day admittance to the zoo with your paid entrance fee for the Family Adventure Day 10K Run. No one is permitted entrance per the zoo rules past this time.
This family-friendly day will include a zoo walk through the Detroit Zoo beginning at the zoo gates leading to the
NEW zoo pavilion where fun activities for the whole family will be found. MSU, Sparty mascot and Detroit Lions mascot, Roary, will be entertaining us again this year! Tookles, the clown, will be face painting in the Childrens Zone. A tin can raffle filled with items to excite the shopper in your family at a price that every bargain hunter will love! Entertainment on the main stage will keep your feet tapping while you enjoy snacks. This is a fabulous opportunity for you to come out and raise awareness, help raise funds to support the tri-fold mission of the Scleroderma Foundation, and educate those in the community about scleroderma.
