Description
UNC Habitat for Humanity
is hosting the 1st Annual Racing the Roof 5K on January 25, 2014, benefiting decent and affordable housing in Honduras.
The UNC
Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring its 16th house in
Siguatepeque, Honduras. The UNC chapter has made a long-term commitment
to the work of Habitat for Humanity International in Honduras.
Habitat for Humanity is an international nonprofit organization that
believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and
affordable place to live. Honduras is
one of the poorest and least developed countries in Latin America, with
nearly two-thirds of Hondurans living in poverty. Habitat for Humanity
has helped more than more than 76,200 Hondurans since it began its work
in the country in 1989.
It's $20 to run, walk, or crawl down the course on race day. But if you'd rather sleep in, you can buy a t-shirt for $15.
